Art thou on thy way to hell for speaking clearly?

Please, someone speak up!

Okay, there is nothing wrong with the King James Version of the Bible. However, there is also nothing wrong with the New King James Version or the New American Standard and many others.

There may not be a problem with reading the Living Bible, as long as you realize it is a paraphrase, not a translation and only by one man so it is very biased toward only his beliefs. Same with the Clear Word, a paraphrase by only one man and very biased toward his beliefs.

Now, I do admit, I have some problems with the NIV. Yep, the New International Version. Seems to me that "they" took the liberties of a paraphrase, yet called it a version and a scholarly translation, but again, I don't think any one is going to be eternally lost for reading the NIV.

But I just need to hear from someone else out there. Recently, I heard someone say that only the KJV was good enough. Well, personally, I'd like to skip many of the thees and thous sometimes, but at other times, I embrace it.

I will admit, that it makes me really angry when people are led to believe that they aren't full Christians if they read anything other than the KJV. Any thoughts out there?

I agree with thee, and I get tired of hearing Pastors endorse one translation over another as if one is more "holy". I think it is good for us to read many different versions of the Bible- this increases our understanding and encourages contemplation.
There is NO sin in modernizing the Canon into modern language. Nobody goes around using words like 'Thy, Thee, Thou, whither, goest, etc' except those who are trying to sound impressive during the kneeling prayer.

I enjoy MANY versions, my favorites: The Clear Word, NIV and the New King James.

Okay, I don't usually waste my time commenting on your blog anymore, for sanity reasons, however when you start giving out medical advice - I gotta say something.

I speak as a registered nurse, with a license, and you speak as............???????

First, Deb's instructions to eat 9 small "snacks" is not for the purpose of losing weight (apparently you didn't even listen to your "friend"). She is diabetic, and the 9 small snacks a day is a way to regulate her blood sugar. NOT eating these 9 times a day could be dangerous to her - how DARE you tell her it is silly. Blood sugar can be extremely difficult to regulate in the beginning of treatment, and if the doctor says 9 meals for now, then 9 meals it is. Its not her stomach that is overworked, its her pancreas, which isn't either producing or uptaking enough insulin. You told me once to get a dictionary out. Maybe you need to get a physiology book out. When you finish the 11 or 12 years of training it takes to be a doctor, then feel free to give out advice, until then - be kind, don't be ignorant, leave the medical advice to someone who knows what they are talking about.

I'm the first to admit that doctors make mistakes, (you have no idea) but you OBVIOUSLY do not have a clue about diabetes. If she were to listen to you it could be dangerous, if not deadly in the end. Trust me - I've seen it. I clean the wounds, I dress the amputations, and I deliver the dead babies. I helped take care of my blind diabetic grandmother, and am watching my mother-in-law slowly deteriorate because she refuses to follow doctors orders. What kind of license do you have? You should probably keep to what you know - psychotic religiosity, and leave the medical stuff to those of us that actually went to school. At least doctors take a pledge to "do no harm". Maybe you should too.

If you weren't hovering over your child and completely stressing him out at the blood draw I can guarantee the phlebotomist would have gotten Michael on the 1st stick. You are one of THOSE parents.

As far as the fish and birds go, can you actually be serious? You won't have a fish in an aquarium, but you will ride a horse that is bridled and broken (btw, "broken" is referring to its spirit), and kept in corral or a stable. And you will use the lipizan (sp?) stallions as entertainment. And the rodeo, according to your other posts. You think those bulls, and horses and other rodeo animals aren't being "used"? You think they enjoy it? We have two parakeets. In a cage in our kitchen. They are well cared for, enjoyed, and loved. I love to hear them sing in the morning, and I love buying them treats. We started out with one bird. The other bird was found. He apparently was set "free" or most likely escaped being a "tortured" pet in a cage, and had gotten free. I found him in my neighbor's front porch, surrounded by about 5 cats who were planning his death. I shooed the cats away, picked him up, and placed him in the cage with my other bird. As soon as I put him in the cage, he immediately ate bird food for about 20 minutes, and finally had some water. He has been thriving ever since. If I set him "free" again, he would never survive.

Sometimes cages and walls are there for our protection and love.

Your logic is so fucked up sometimes. Reminds me of my psych patients. I'm like in total amazement. Enough time wasted here. I feel sorry for your little boy who can't even have a pet bird.

What I feel for Karl is beyond sorry.

How dare you tell her it is silly.
Put down Genesis for awhile, if you can pry you hands off the bible for awhile, and pick up a physiology book before you give out any more advice.

Fallen Angel,

It appears that both of us have spoken without having the right to do so. You have NO IDEA of what my son goes through and therefore no right to judge. End of story.

While I do not have a nursing degree, I live with health conditions that have forced me to study, not just take modern medicine dictates hook line and sinker. I have been forced to learn about the human body and how it works in order live a "normal life."

No, I don't have a degree in medicine, but I do know what it is like to watch people suffer from diabetes and related problems. And most of them started out eating lots of meals before they got the diabetes.

So sorry to have offended you so much that you had to respond with such unladylike language on my blog.

I will personally apologize to Deb for any pain or medical problems I may have caused her. It was not my intent in any way to harm her health.

If the rest of you don't have a clue what this is all about, Fallen Angel does reference a friend's blog in her post.
