I was made aware of this site, and so I checked it out. It's about a pastor from a Messianic Jewish Church that is predicting an earthquake of dynamic proportions for Portland, Oregon.

Personally, my thoughts are that Jesus said there would be many false christs and false prophets in the last days. So, if this man's prediction is true, then we go from there. If it is false, then we know that he was just one of the false prophets Jesus warned about. If that is the case, that lets us know that the times Jesus talked about are here!

I think the "last days" you speak of has been coming around for the last century. We are on God's time, however, so to Him it may be the "last day." Speaking of false prophets, don't forget our own (SDA Millerites) back in 1844. Satan will use everry denomination to spread a false Gospel.
I appreciate Marcels comments. However, we must remember that there are intentional false Christs and those who share information that is not complete. The SDA Millerites told the information that they had as they understood it, not in order to deceive. In addition, the Great Disappointment of 1844 was predicted in the Bible and it happened just as prophecy said.
I read a book of my family history that goes all the way back to the 1650's. It contains a letter written by my great, great, great, (times 7) grandmother, Ruth Hubbard Burdick, to her parents when the Pequot indians were threatening to attack the Rhode Island colonists. She concluded that those days must be the last days and she quoted the oft spoken verse from Matthew 24, "There shall be wars and rumors of wars."
God's people have been looking for His return for 2000 years. It has been the blessed hope. How can we blame them?
Do I believe we live in the last days? Yes. Jesus said to watch, for in the day that we don't, He will come. That's incentive enough! Even if it seems foolish, I'm believing Jesus could come real soon! And if I die before He comes, at least I obeyed Him.
I like the idea of living as if there is no tomorrow while at the same time planning for the hundreds of tomorrows as if life continues forever. Helps keep you in balance, I think.

Thanks :) I will respond to my contextual point of view here, if that's okay, after getting the text. I do agree with your comments about the Millerites intention. But think of it another way. If we don't have "all the information," aren't we then deceived? Even the Pharisees, who were strict religous leaders and beleivers were deceived by their own legalism and rejected the Savior.
I was just studying about the Holy Spirit and the "last days." Very interesting. It seems that Peter in his defense on the day of Pentecost said yo folks. Don't you get it, this is what that prophet named Joel was talking about! Hello!!!
However, Peter said, the last days, repeatedly. Somehow Peter seemed to have missed the fact that there would be a former and a latter rain.
So my point is, if Peter who walked and talked with Jesus, denied him and was convicted and repented, was told of how Jesus fulfilled all the prophecies by Jesus Himself and so forth could still make a mistake in applying prophecy, it looks like we are all in good company.
That doesn't mean that we can screw around and mess stuff up on purpose, but that God winks at our ignorance. I mean, look how many reformers it took to get this far.
